The Garfield Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will be running it's fourth Community Emergency Response Team training course. Classes will start on Monday, September 25th 2006 at 7:00pm and will be held at Fire Company #5 (33 Plauderville Ave Garfield NJ 07026). CERT trains people in neighborhoods, the workplace and schools in basic disaster response skills, such as fire suppression, urban search and rescue and medical operations and helps them take a more active role in emergency preparedness.
Become more involved in your community, VOLUNTEER to be a part of Garfield's growing Community Emergency Response Team. You will be taught the above listed skills so that you can effectively help family, friends or yourself in times of disaster.
